Mounties in Olds are asking for the public’s help with any information regarding a fire believed to be deliberately set this week.

On Jan. 27, just before 8:00 p.m., Olds RCMP responded to a report of arson at an abandoned structure, formerly known as “Mom’s Kitchen”.

Police say the building is located on 20 Ave. between 20 St. and 21 St. in Bowden, adding that the fire was observed by a pedestrian who called 911.

The investigation revealed that a door to the structure had intentionally been set on fire. Damage to the building was limited to the door.

Olds RCMP are looking for any security footage or any dash cam footage along 20 Ave between 20 St. and 21 St. between 7 and 8 p.m. that night.

Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to call Olds RCMP at 403-556-3324 or your local police.

If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at www.P3Tips.com or by using the “P3 Tips” app available through the Apple App or Google Play Store.

Meantime, Olds RCMP continue to investigate the cause of a fire at an abandoned hotel in Bowden New Year’s Eve.
