Nov 5, 2026 | 11:53 AM

Maskwacis RCMP have charged two people from Maskwacis accused of an assault that took place on Tuesday evening.

Police say on Nov. 3 at 11 p.m. the RCMP were called to Louis Bull First Nation for a weapons complaint.

Mounties learned that a man was assaulted with a weapon and ran into another nearby residence where he called 911.

The victim was taken to hospital by STARS air ambulance and has since been released.

Officers say the incident was isolated, as the victim and the suspects were known to each other.

Through an investigation, RCMP determined there were two suspects, who were later arrested at a nearby residence.

As a result, 35-year-old Catlin Ermineskin of Maskwacis was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery with a weapon, and forcible confinement.

Ermineskin was also wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for failing to return on a statutory release.

In addition, 40-year-old Marcel Littlechid of Maskwacis was charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, armed robbery with a weapon, forcible confinement, and two counts of failure to comply with a release order.

Both of the accused are set to make their first appearance in Wetaskiwin Court of Justice on Nov. 10.
