Award-winning author to speak at virtual event
On Monday, Nov. 15 at 6:30 p.m., Sylvan Lake Municipal Library will host a virtual author talk with G.S. Prendergast, a Canadian author of fiction for children and teens.
One goal of the event is inspiring local writers.
“You should probably start writing as soon as you can because it will take time to find your feet. On the other hand, it’s never too late to start. Just give yourself permission to write badly at first!” said Prendergast, offering advice to first-time writers.
Prendergast’s writing has won the Monte Miller Award, the Westchester Fiction Award, and The BC Book Prize. She has also been nominated or short listed for numerous other honors.
