Two arrests have been made after a man was shot last week near Parkland Mall.

The shooting in the northeast corner of the mall’s parking lot happened just after 11:30 a.m. on June 29. Mounties said at the time that the shooting appeared to be targeted.

The victim, who is in his 30s, was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A stolen white 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee police believed was involved in the incident was recovered late the same day in Calgary.

Red Deer RCMP say two suspects wanted in relation to the incident were arrested on Tuesday (July 7).

Casey Cousins, 31, was arrested in Calgary with the assistance of Calgary Police Service. Jacob Doubt, 23, was arrested in Vanderhoof, BC with the assistance of BC RCMP.

Cousins and Doubt, who police say are both from Calgary, each face charges including attempted murder with a firearm, multiple firearms related charges, possession of a stolen vehicle, and failing to comply with release orders.

Red Deer RCMP say they are still working to identify other individuals that may have been involved in the shooting.
