69 new cases of COVID-19 in Alberta for a total of 1,250

As of Sunday, there are now 1,250 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Alberta, up 69 from yesterday.

A total of 919 cases are lab confirmed while 331 are probable cases.

There are three new deaths being reported in the last 24 hours. To date, there have been 23 in the province. One of those is the first to be reported in Central Zone. Alberta Health confirms to rdnewsNOW the death is of a woman in her 80s.

There have been 84 hospitalizations, and 26 admissions to ICUs. Currently, there are 48 people in hospital and 13 in ICUs.

Up to 152 (an increase of 19) are suspected of being from community transfer, and there have been 279 recoveries (39 more than yesterday).

Dr. Deena Hinshaw, the province’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, offered a number of thoughts via social media on Sunday.

Sobey’s is also stepping up its reporting of COVID-19; the company is noting one case in its Alberta stores. It says the employee last worked March 20 at the Wetaskiwin Safeway (3901-56 Street)
