WATCH: Red Deer Kinsmen open up 39th dream home lottery

Oct 5, 2019 | 6:20 PM

Year number 39 is underway for the Red Deer Kinsmen dream home lottery and organizers are hoping they can bounce back after three or four down years, due in part to the economy.

To boot, the Larkaun-built home is in Red Deer’s new northeast neighbourhood of Evergreen at 3 Eaton Crescent.

The home, which is valued at $730,000 is also unique this year because it comes with a partially unfinished basement area, with the idea that the winner can make of it what they dream.

“All the money we raise in this program goes to help support the sports teams, the kids who aren’t getting lunches, so many other not for profits, and music,” says Chris Klassen, Red Deer Kinsmen Club president. “We’re helping inject extra funding into those programs here in Red Deer and central Alberta.”

Klassen estimates they’d raise north of $200,000 if they sold all the tickets for the house.

In addition, there is a 50/50 draw with a maximum payout of $150,000, four other cash giveaways from $15,000 on down, a central Alberta golf package, a trip for four to Mexico, Rebels season tickets and much more.

The dream home will be open for viewing and ticket buying Saturdays and Sundays from 1-5 p.m. until Dec. 31.
