Ponoka looking to improve transportation network
The Town of Ponoka wants citizens to share their thoughts and ideas on what’s working and what improvements can be made to Ponoka’s transportation infrastructure and how people move around the community – whether it’s walking, cycling or driving.
The call for public input is part of the process of developing a Transportation Master Plan for Ponoka that will be used to support the community’s transportation needs as Ponoka grows and evolves.
Town officials say the Transportation Master Plan will assess what is currently happening with Ponoka’s transportation network, address what needs to happen as the community continues to grow and evolve and recommend and prioritize projects, improvements and investments in Ponoka’s transportation network to manage ongoing and future growth.
Citizen input is needed to help the Town develop the best plan possible so an interactive map has been posted on the Town website where residents can leave their comments and ideas on items such as roadways, intersections, trails and pedestrian pathways.
