Patients redirected as water leak shuts down Edmonton hospital’s emergency room
EDMONTON – Ambulances are being redirected to other hospitals after a water leak damaged the emergency department at Edmonton’s Misericordia Community Hospital.
Alberta Health Services says in a release that the ER is closed until at least Wednesday morning for repairs and follow-up checks to ensure patient safety.
Details on the exact nature of the leak and the damage it caused at the Covenant Health-run hospital were not immediately available.
AHS says patients currently in emergency are being relocated within the facility.
