3-year-old girl removed from parents following Calgary cocaine bust
Alberta’s integrated police force says they removed a three-year-old girl from a potentially dangerous situation following a traffic stop in Calgary.
An investigation is underway after a search of the vehicle turned up just over one kilogram of cocaine with an estimated value of more than $100,000.
The girl’s parents were arrested last Thursday when police stopped their vehicle at a gas station and laid a drug trafficking-related job.
“We’re happy to have seized these drugs, but we’re even happier to ensure the safety of this young child,” said Insp. Patty McCallum, ALERT Calgary. “Needlessly putting children into dangerous situations like this is unacceptable, and we’re grateful for the support of partners like CARRT to ensure she remains safe.”
