Canadian Taxpayers Federation calls on province to cut Alberta gas tax
The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) is calling on the provincial government to eliminate its gas tax amidst affordability concerns by citizens.
On Wednesday, at a press conference held in Gasoline Alley, Kris Sims, Alberta Director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation, said the federal government also needs to keep its fuel tax cut.
These calls are part of the CTF’s Alberta tour highlighting the fact that they say citizens are being ripped off by gas taxes.
Sims said the provincial government’s Alberta Energy Rebate, which provides $100 to eligible Albertans to help with everyday living costs, was a failure.
