Charges stayed for woman accused in $1M oilfield fraud case
There has been a stay of proceedings in the case a woman accused of stealing more than one million dollars from the Red Deer County-based oilfield company she worked for.
Shelley Davidson, 40, was arrested in August 2013 and charged with fraud and theft over $5000 following an investigation started by Blackfalds RCMP in October 2012.
Davidson was suspected of altering financial documents and stealing millions of dollars from Silverado Oilfield Ventures, for whom she was a bookkeeper from 2006 – 2011.
Silverado shut its doors soon after the alleged fraud was discovered.
