Jim Pattison gets star on Canada’s Walk of Fame
The man behind the Jim Pattison Group — Jim Pattison that is — is receiving a big honour.
Pattison, who recently turned 90 and whose group of companies includes news and radio stations rdnewsNOW, BIG 105.5 and 106.7 The Drive, will be inducted into Canada’s Walk of Fame at an awards ceremony in Toronto on Monday afternoon.
The native of Saskatoon moved to Vancouver with his parents in 1935 and has lived there ever since.
Pattison attended UBC, and later went on to serve on boards of both the Toronto and New York exchanges, and currently serves on the board of the Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation.
He was chairman, president and CEO of Expo 86 in Vancouver.
