Meeting to determine fate of ‘Battle of the Rockies’

Nov 14, 2018 | 8:47 AM

The fate of professional chuckwagon racing in Rocky Mountain House will be discussed at a meeting tonight.

Officials with the Rocky Mountain Chuckwagon Association say the proposed fee structure at the North Saskatchewan River Park would make it too expensive to operate the annual Battle of the Rockies WPCA championship.

The RMCA is seeking feedback from all parties on whether fans would be willing to pay an additional three to five dollars per day for tickets to cover the increased park rental costs.

Tonight’s event gets underway with beef on a bun at 6 p.m. followed by the public meeting at 7 p.m. at the Rocky Legion.
