Two staff with Clearview Public Schools receiving recognition for outstanding work

May 7, 2024 | 10:57 AM

Two members of the staff at Clearview Public Schools are being recognized for their outstanding work.

Jenna Shepherd and Darren Fleischhacker will each be presented with the Clearview Star Award on May 16.

A dedicated member of the team at Clearview Public School, Shepherd, the division’s transportation coordinator, began her time with the division 10 years ago as a bus driver.

“Jenna is the lifeline for all bus drivers, along with coordinating buses for field trips. They would be lost without her,” says Hugh Cox, who nominated Shepherd.

“Butterflies cannot see their wings, but the rest of the world can. Jenna — you are amazing and while you may not see it, we can, your drivers.”

Fleischhacker, meantime, has spent 27 years with Clearview, and is vice principal at Wm. E. Hay Stettler Secondary Campus.

Fleischhacker, known to many as Mr. Fly, has transformed the lives of students and is loved for his innovative teaching methods and deep commitment to student welfare.

“Darren has been a beacon of support and guidance for my son, Seth. His dedication goes beyond his duties; it reaches into the heart of what community and mentorship stand about,” says Alison Baird, a parent.

“Watching him interact with Seth, I’ve seen my son grow from a shy individual into a confident young man ready to take on challenges with enthusiasm.”

The division says his story is a compelling reminder of how educators are crucial to fostering inclusive and adaptable learning environments.

Fleischhacker also received the Clearview Star Award in 2021.
