Red Deer Public Schools win national awards for communications excellence

Oct 30, 2026 | 7:40 PM

Red Deer Public Schools announced they’ve won three national awards for communications excellence.

Specifically, they earned three national honours at the 2026 Canadian Association of Communicators in Education (CACE) BRAVO! Awards.

According to the division, these awards recognize communications initiatives that celebrate staff contributions, engage the community, and highlight opportunities for students.

They received a Coup de Coeur Award for their Retiree Spotlight on Facebook, an Award of Distinction for its Classroom Complexity Community Engagement initiative, and an Award of Excellence for its Fire Academy.

“These awards reflect the important work happening across Red Deer Public Schools and the stories that deserve to be shared with our community,” said Superintendent Chad Erickson in a media release. “Whether we’re highlighting innovative learning opportunities for students, listening to families and staff, or celebrating the people who have dedicated their careers to education, effective communication helps strengthen our connections with the community we serve.”

The three awards recognize the division’s communications work in supporting schools, sharing Division priorities and achievements, and keeping students, staff, families and community members informed.

The CACE BRAVO! Awards, presented by SchoolBundle, are the only national awards program specifically designed to recognize excellence in school board communications. Each year, the program honours exemplary work in school public relations, communications, marketing and engagement across Canada.
