UPDATE: Rainfall warning for Red Deer ended

May 6, 2024 | 9:21 AM

Update: The rainfall warning has ended as of Wednesday morning.

A rainfall warning is still in effect for Red Deer and the surrounding area.

Officials with Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) say heavy rain is expected to taper off Wednesday.

Widespread rainfall totals of 50 to 70 mm are likely, but projected locally higher amounts have increased from 80 mm to 100 mm.

ECCC officials remind residents that heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads, and localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
