CALGARY- A 56-year-old Calgary man has been identified as the victim of a skiing accident at Whitefish Mountain Resort in Montana.
Police say Charles Douglas James Herr was skiing with a friend last week when they became separated.
A missing person’s report was filed and Herr’s body was found Friday afternoon in a tree well following a two-hour search by the resort’s ski patrol.
A tree well occurs when a void or area of loose snow around a tree trunk is enveloped in deep snow and skiers who fall into them can get trapped and be unable to free themselves.
