Sylvan Lake by-election set for Nov. 2

The Town of Sylvan Lake has set a date for a by-election following the resignation of councillor Jas Payne earlier this month.

His announcement came on Sept. 3 after 13 years and four terms serving as a town councillor.

As a result, the town will hold the by-election on Monday, Nov. 2, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wellness and Community Connections Centre in Sylvan Lake.

First and foremost, those hoping to run for the open spot have until Oct. 5 to file their nomination papers, which can only be done by appointment with the returning officer.
