Red Deer Food Bank launches Hunger Action Month campaign
The Red Deer Food Bank is launching its own version of Hunger Action Month to raise awareness about food insecurity.
Hunger Action Month is observed in other parts of North America every September.
Through its campaign, the Red Deer Food Bank hopes to share practical ways people can help, including donating food or funds, volunteering, organizing food drives, and attending community events.
“Hunger is not always easy to see, but it affects thousands of people throughout Central Alberta, and there is no single way to address it. Every donation, volunteer hour, food drive, and conversation helps us put food on someone’s table,” the organization says in a release.
