The Foundation for RDPS Life Chances 50/50 Cash Lottery now underway

The Foundation for Red Deer Public Schools has launched its annual Life Chances 50/50 Cash Lottery.

From now until Oct. 7, citizens are encouraged to buy tickets in hopes of taking home up to $25,000 in cash.

The funds raised will help create brighter futures for students across the school division through multiple programs and projects.

The draw will take place on Oct. 8.

“This lottery isn’t just about winning a great prize – it’s about changing lives for students,” said Kristine Plastow, Chair of the Foundation for Red Deer Public Schools, in a media release. “Funds raised during the lottery go straight into programs that help kids succeed in school and in life. Whether it’s making sure children are ready for Kindergarten, helping them learn to read, or giving them the support they need to graduate, every ticket purchased makes a significant difference.”

Last year, the foundation raised over $29,000, with a Red Deer Public Schools Trustee winning $14,557.

Those interested can buy multiple different ticket packages, including 25 for $50, 10 for $25, and one for $10.

They can do so online by clicking here or visiting rafflebox.ca.

Some of the programs within the division that the foundation supports include Bright Start, Reading College, Step Up, and Finish Line.

“All of these programs make a real difference in the lives of kids and help them reach their full potential,” Kristine added. “Buying a ticket is such a simple way to be part of that impact.

“Our community has always been incredibly generous. When you buy a ticket, you’re not only entering to win a great prize, you’re helping kids right here in Red Deer.”
