Trial date set for Red Deer man charged in organized auto theft and re-vinning operation
A trial date has been set for one of six people charged following a year-long investigation into an alleged organized auto theft and re-vinning operation in central Alberta.
Quinn Richard Olson, 50, of Red Deer, is scheduled for trial in Calgary Court of King’s Bench from Jan. 4-15, 2027.
Olson is charged with attempted murder, discharging firearm with intent, and causing bodily harm by criminal negligence.
He was previously scheduled for trial last fall, in 2025, but it never took place. A preliminary hearing was then held in Calgary in March 2026 and determined there was enough evidence for a trial to take place.
