Penhold, Clive, Bentley to plan together for future growth

Aug 6, 2026 | 3:14 PM

The communities of Bentley, Penhold, and Clive are working together, they say, to develop a Shared Regional Growth Strategic Framework (SRGSF).

The collaboration is made possible through an Alberta Community Partnership grant.

A customized growth strategy will be developed for each municipality, incorporating several components. Those include a housing needs assessment.

“The Village of Clive is looking forward to working with our friends in the Towns of Bentley and Penhold,” says Mayor Luci Henry.

“As a small, rural community, we’ve seen consistent growth over the last decade with a significant population milestone on the horizon. It’s more important than ever to plan for future growth, and we can do so thanks to the Alberta Community Partnership program.”

Bentley Mayor Pam Hansen and Penhold Mayor Mike Yargeau echoed those sentiments.

Work will happen through the rest of 2026, with public updates to come along the way.
