Province’s culture minister encourages Albertans to celebrate Heritage Day
The province’s minister of Arts, Culture and Status of Women is recognizing Heritage Day in Alberta.
“On Heritage Day, Albertans come together to celebrate the different cultures and traditions that have helped make our province the incredible place that it is today,” said Tanya Fir in a prepared statement Monday.
“Just as importantly, it’s also a chance to honour the individuals, families and communities whose hard work continues to preserve those customs for future generations.”
Fir added that for more than half a century, the holiday has been marked by community celebrations, cultural events and local gatherings, and thanked the many volunteers, organizers and community leaders behind the various events, calling Alberta the best place to live in all of Canada.
