Preliminary hearing scheduled for Blackfalds woman accused of stealing from employer

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a Blackfalds woman accused of stealing half a million dollars from her employer. 

Tristyn Caylee Torris, 37, is scheduled to find out in Red Deer Court of Justice on March 12, 2027, if her case has enough evidence to go to trial. 

It was on Jan. 17, 2024, when Blackfalds RCMP received a report that an employee of a local business had been stealing from the business over several years. 

The Blackfalds General Investigations Section investigated the case and determined the suspect had taken over $500,000 from the business.
