Addressing Bylaw in Stettler a matter of safety

Jun 25, 2026 | 6:12 PM

Stettler town council has passed a new Addressing Bylaw, and is reminding residents and business owners to comply.

The bylaw was passed June 16, and requires civic addresses to be clearly displayed and visible from the street, which ensures homes, businesses, and individual units can be easily identified.

“Throughout my career as a paramedic, I’ve responded to emergencies where every second mattered,” says Councillor Dusty Myshrall in a news release.

“In those moments, something as simple as a clearly visible address can help responders find the right property faster and begin providing care sooner. This bylaw is a simple step that can make a meaningful difference in protecting public safety throughout our community.”

The Town is encouraging residents and business owners to review their properties and ensure address numbers are visible, legible, and unobstructed from the roadway.

Property owners with multiple units, secondary suites, businesses, or buildings on a single property should ensure that all addresses are clearly identified.
