Maskwacis RCMP charge man after threats, but he remains at-large

RCMP have charged one person following an investigation in Maskwacis.

On May 25, at around 6 p.m. in Samson Cree Nation, RCMP received a call from someone who was reported that a male suspect had allegedly threatened to hit him with a golf club.

The suspect is said to have gone in the house, retrieved a firearm, and threatened the other male with it as well.

“The male ran away from the area, calling the police a short time later. A search warrant was executed at a residence in rural Samson in partnership with general duty members, General Investigation Section (GIS) and the community policing section,” RCMP note in a media release.

Nathan Eagle, a 36-year-old resident of Samson Cree, has been charged with the following:

Utter threats against a person;
Possession of a firearm when prohibited;
Unauthorized possession of a firearm;
Unsafe storage of a firearm;
Using a firearm in the commission of an offence;
Possess a weapon dangerous to public;
Assault with a weapon X2;
Possession of a firearm with no licence.

On May 29, RCMP attempted an arrest of the Eagle locally, but he fled the scene at a high rate of speed in a black Dodge Durango.

He has also been charged with:

Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle;
Flight from peace officer.

As of June 1, Eagle remains at-large. Call RCMP if you encounter him.
