The Red Deer Lacrosse Association’s 33rd annual “Tradition Lives” tournament is set for the upcoming long weekend.

From May 15 -18, the top U9, U11, U13B, U13A, U15A, U15B, and U17 teams will come to Red Deer to compete for gold.

There will also be a U15 Female division for a total of 61 teams competing from across Alberta, and a few from Saskatchewan and B.C.

In a statement on the tournament’s website, organizers say they hope that teams’ memories of this tournament will be satisfying, both in accomplishing their goals in lacrosse and in the fellowship made on and off the floor.

“We would also like to welcome those out-of-town participants that are visiting our fine city and trust you will enjoy your stay,” they said in the statement to players, coaches, parents and fans.

“The Tradition Lives Lacrosse Tournament is made possible through the efforts of volunteer parents and fans of the game who strive to offer a first-class tournament experience for players of all ages and abilities.

Games will officially begin at 9 a.m. on Friday and take place at the Collicutt Centre, the G.H. Dawe Community Centre, and Kinsmen Arenas.
