Police continued attempts to stop the vehicle with help from the Alberta RCMP Real Time Operations Centre, and the vehicle was ultimately halted at a closed-ended intersection.

As a result, the male driver was arrested by Red Deer RCMP without further incident, and there were no injuries in the collision.

“Red Deer RCMP are reminding drivers that driving impaired due to drugs, alcohol, or other intoxicating substances is never okay; it is criminal and dangerous,” as stated in a media release.

The resident of Red Deer was arrested on an outstanding warrant and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, refusal to comply with a demand, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failure to stop after an accident, flight from a peace officer, and three counts of failure to comply with a probation order.

Following a Judicial Interim Release (JIR) Hearing, he was remanded into custody to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer on Apr. 23, 2026.
