An exhibit featuring the work of Red Deer Polytechnic students opens at the Red Deer Museum + Art Gallery (MAG) on March 28.

‘Built for Adventure’ runs through April 18.

“The year-end exhibition is always one of our favourite moments of the year,” says Kim Verrier, exhibitions curator at the MAG.

“There’s something special about watching students step into our professional-level gallery spaces and work together to build their show. You can feel the energy, the risk-taking, and the excitement. Every year, we’re thrilled to play a role in facilitating this experience for emerging artists in our community.”

Organizers say the title reflects not only the adventurous spirit of the artwork on display, but also the resilience required to pursue a life in the arts.

“Built for Adventure reflects the courage it takes to pursue a life in the arts,” says Robin Lambert, instructor at the RDP Visual Art Program.

“These students have embraced experimentation, problem-solving, and self-discovery. This exhibition isn’t just about finished pieces, it’s about growth, resilience, and stepping boldly into what comes next.”
