Cause undetermined, but police still looking into deadly Torrington house fire

The cause of a house fire which killed two people last month in Torrington, Alta remains undetermined.

That, according to officials with Kneehill County and the Torrington Fire Department, who spoke to rdnewsNOW Oct. 7.

RCMP also gave a brief update, saying that although there’s been no indication of anything suspicious at this time, they are still investigating.

On Sept. 24, 2025, at approximately 7:22 a.m., Olds RCMP were called to a structure fire on 1 Avenue in Torrington, about 35 km east of Olds.

Mounties say officers arrived on scene to a house engulfed in flames. Torrington Fire Department, with assistance from neighbouring fire departments, also attended.

Once it was safe to enter the residence, police say two deceased persons were located inside the house, believed to be a 57-year old male and 38-year-old female, residents of the home.
