Lacombe Police Service seizes significant quantities of drugs following traffic stop

Oct 1, 2025 | 1:33 PM

The Lacombe Police Service arrested an Edmonton man following a traffic stop in August that led to a drug seizure.

Police say in the early morning hours of Aug. 5, an officer out on patrol noticed a 2022 Subaru WRX with heavily tinted windows parked behind the Co-op grocery store on Highway 2A.

During the traffic stop, the officer observed drug paraphernalia and suspected Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) residue in plain view.

As a result, police arrested the man and searched the vehicle and discovered significant quantities of cocaine, methamphetamine, codeine, and Xanax, as well as digital scales and a weapon, all of which was seized by police.

The 24-year-old individual has been charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.

He is scheduled to appear in Red Deer Court of Justice on Oct. 2.
