Innisfail RCMP and ALERT’s ICE unit arrest Penhold man on child pornography related charges

Innisfail RCMP have arrested a 44-year-old Penhold man for charges related to child pornography after they conducted a search warrant at a residence on Thursday.

On Sept. 18, the RCMP in partnership with ALERT’s Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit, conducted a search warrant at a home in Penhold and arrested Jefferey Johnstone as part of an ongoing investigation.

As a result, Johnstone has been charged with making child pornography available; possessing child pornography; and accessing child pornography.

Johnstone was taken before a Justice of the Peace and released with his next court date set for Oct. 16, 2025, at the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer.

The arrest comes after the Innisfail RCMP alerted the public to a large police presence in the area Thursday afternoon.
