ASIRT updates fraud case involving former Lacombe police officer
The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) has offered a minor update on the fraud case involving a now former Lacombe police officer.
rdnewsNOW reported earlier this week about the officer having been suspended in early July, then resigning from their role as an officer altogether. In the meantime, the investigation was taken over by ASIRT.
The officer’s identity has not been released because charges are not yet formally laid.
But on Friday, ASIRT clarified that initial indications are that the alleged fraud was more than $200,000 and happened over a span of many years.
