Man sentenced in Red Deer stolen vehicle incident

A man police describe as a repeat offender has been sentenced to 13 months in jail in relation to a stolen vehicle incident in Red Deer last year.

Jordan Kyle Glasgow, 24, plead guilty to counts of possession of property over $5000, and dangerous operation, in Red Deer Court of Justice on April 7, 2025. Glasgow, however, was also given credit for 8.5 months of pre-trial custody, leaving him 137 days left to serve. Two other counts were withdrawn.

Red Deer RCMP say it was around 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 24, 2024, when members were notified that a vehicle had been stolen while the owner was shopping at a business in the city’s south end.

The vehicle, which was equipped with GPS tracking, allowed officers to covertly track its movements.

With assistance from RCMP Police Dog Services, and detachments in Innisfail and Blackfalds, plus Red Deer GIS, the driver of the vehicle was arrested.

Jordan Kyle Glasgow, 24, of Red Deer, was charged with the following:

• Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
• Flight from a Peace Officer
• Dangerous operation of a conveyance
• Driving while prohibited

Glasgow was taken before a Justice of the Peace and was remanded into custody.

Peviously, Glasgow was sentenced in October 2022 in relation to a stolen property bust that took place in Penhold in November 2021. For his role, Glasgow received 540 days in jail, plus 18 months probation and a firearms prohibition of 20 years.

Then, on March 31, 2023, Glasgow was arrested in connection to an incident in downtown Red Deer. In that incident, Glasgow was alleged to have rammed a police vehicle in a stolen vehicle, before fleeing and then being arrested.

In that case, Glasgow was sentenced to two years minus one day, on the charges of driving while prohibited, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. Four other charges were dropped. He also received a driving prohibition.

The Ministry of Justice nor RCMP could confirm when he was last released or if he was granted time served to begin his sentence.
