Apr 4, 2023 | 5:02 PM

Red Deer RCMP have made an arrest following an incident downtown on March 31.

It was about 5:30 p.m. that Red Deer RCMP members were conducting patrols when they observed a grey Dodge Ram 1500 driving erratically near Ross Street and 43 Avenue.

RCMP then determined the car was stolen.

Covert surveillance led to a traffic stop in Riverside Meadows, but the male intentionally rammed a police vehicle to escape apprehension, police describe.

Then driver then allegedly struck a parked vehicle and fled at a high rate of speed.

RCMP Police Dog Services located the man who had since fled from the vehicle on foot. He was then arrested.

· Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000

· Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle

· Fail to comply with probation order

· Operation while prohibited

· Failure to stop after accident
