Rash of bad drivers passing red-lit Wolf Creek school buses this fall
Wolf Creek Public Schools is reminding motorists that in its jurisdictions, it is illegal to pass a school bus when its red lights are flashing.
Unfortunately, by the first week of October, bus drivers in that division had made 18 reports of vehicles passing WCPS buses while students were entering and exiting their buses.
“This year we have seen the highest number of drivers reported for passing a school bus while the red flashing lights and stop signs have been activated,” WCPS Director of Transportation Betty Clark said.
“Recklessness around our school buses is entirely unacceptable and puts our students at risk.”
