UPDATE: Highway 2 reopened following serious motor vehicle collision

Update: The Blackfalds RCMP say as of 4:12 p.m. on Friday,  Highway 2 is now open and normal traffic can resume.

Blackfalds RCMP are currently on scene at a serious motor vehicle collision on Highway 2 in the north bound lanes near Lacombe.

Mounties say Highway 2 north bound traffic is being diverted through Lacombe. The RCMP collision reconstructionist is en route so motorists can expect delays for approximately four hours.
