Penhold students take part in anti-impaired driving presentation

Dec 10, 2024 | 12:38 PM

About 60 students at Penhold Crossing Secondary recently took part in an anti-impaired driving demonstration.

The event was presented by Innisfail RCMP, Penhold Citizens on Patrol (COP) and the Penhold Fire Department on Dec. 2.

Participants were challenged to navigate an obstacle course with a pedal cart while wearing blood alcohol-simulating visual impairment glasses. In another exercise, they attempted to complete the course while distracted and texting on their phones.

“Traffic safety and youth engagement are two of the strategic priorities for the Innisfail RCMP,” says Staff Sgt. Ian Ihme.
