Red Deer’s musicians and entertainment district get chance to shine during upcoming ‘Locals Showcase’

Aug 17, 2024 | 8:46 PM

A ‘Locals Showcase’ will bring alive Red Deer’s entertainment district this coming Aug. 31.

The event, which organizers say will offer a vibrant evening of music and community spirit, goes from 5:30-9 p.m. on the Ross Street Patio.

According to organizers:

The “Locals Showcase” will feature some of Red Deer’s finest performers, including Paeton Cameron, Jeremy Doody, Rebecca Raabis, Shiv Shanks, Jamie Adams, Stephen Scott, Jaydin Vonkeman, Brad Abel, Mike Szabo, and Katy Grant. Organized and hosted by Brandon Bouchard of Downtown Red Deer Adventures, the event will kick off with opening remarks from Mayor Ken Johnston, celebrating the third summer of the Entertainment District, the first of its kind in Alberta. The event will be filmed and submitted to Rogers TV.

There will also be drink specials at several downtown patio-area establishments.

The event is free to all ages, and of course that includes parking since it’s the weekend.

Guests are encouraged to bring their own chairs in case the patio fills up.

Cash donations will be accepted on the artists’ behalf.

More information is on the Downtown Red Deer Adventures Facebook page.
