Road closure on 50 Street in Red Deer starting July 10

Red Deer motorists are being advised of an upcoming road closure next week.

Starting at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, July 10, a road closure will be placed on 50 Street between 50 Avenue and 51 Avenue.

The City says the closure is so crews can shut off utility services to downtown vacant sites, previously The Buffalo Hotel and Club Café.

They say all three lanes of 50 Street will be closed between 50 Avenue and 51 Avenue until the evening hours when the two north lanes will reopen to traffic. The south lane and south parking spaces will remain closed until Wednesday, July 12, in the evening.

Drivers are being reminded to slow down when in construction areas and pedestrians are to cross only at designated crosswalks. The work is weather dependent, and schedules may be subject to change.
