Grandma, Grandpa, and Me!

Family Services of Central Alberta hosting event focussed on kids and grandparents

Jun 21, 2023 | 4:37 PM

Summer is just starting, and officials with Family Services of Central Alberta (FSCA) want you to spend some time having fun with the ones you love.

Grandma, Grandpa, and Me! is described as an event that will help grandparents and their grandchildren create some great memories and grow their bond. FSCA says spending time with your family is important, so they encourage you to let them help you have a great time with your loved ones.

Join them on Wednesday, June 28 at Rotary Recreation Park, 4501 47A Avenue in Red Deer. This fun filled event will take place between 6 and 7:30 p.m.

Officials say this free event is geared towards children under the age of 11 years old and their grandparents of any age. The evening will have various fun games and a scavenger hunt. After all the activities are complete, FSCA will supply everyone with a frozen treat. The event will run rain or shine, so all can have a great time. It’s noted, however, that activities might change, but the amount of memories that are going to be made will not.

Family Services of Central Alberta says it has worked with many organizations to make this evening happen, including the City of Red Deer and the Golden Circle Senior Resource Centre.

As this event takes place in June, it is included in the Participation Community Better Challenge. Officials say the campaign encourages everyone to get active and spend time with one another, as this evening will help you do both.
