Beach accessible wheelchairs and mat for Sylvan Lake

The Town of Sylvan Lake says it is committed to making Sylvan Lake Park more inclusive.

In that regard, the Town says it now has three beach accessible wheelchairs and a beach mat.

Town officials say the Parks Department partnered with The Make a Move with Jagger Foundation. The Foundation purchased a wheelchair accessible mat for the lakefront, and the Town purchased three chairs. The mat enables beach access for wheelchairs, strollers, and canes. Officials say the wheelchairs easily roll in sand and grass. Two of the chairs can float and go underwater. Parks crews are installing the mat east of the pier on June 15, 2023.
