Business license renewal time in Ponoka

Businesses in the Town of Ponoka have until December 31, 2022 to renew their business licences for the 2023 year.

Town officials say renewal notices are currently being mailed to all local businesses.

Businesses that operate, provide or sell a product or service within or partially within the Town of Ponoka corporate boundaries are required to have a valid Ponoka business licence and renew it annually as per the New Business Licence Bylaw No. 443-20. Approved business licences for the 2022 year will expire on December 31, 2022.

When renewing a business licence, entrepreneurs are asked to provide any changes in business information, such as:

A change of business location;
Contact information; and/or
A change in ownership.

Town officials say notification of all changes, such as those listed above, should be provided in writing by emailing permits@ponoka.ca.

If you have not received a business licence renewal notice, please email permits@ponoka.ca or phone 403-783-0119.

New Business Licences

If you are a new business in Ponoka, you can apply for a business licence by visiting the Town website at www.ponoka.ca.

Click on the ‘Business’ tab at the top of the page, and then click ‘Business Licensing’ on the drop down menu. Here you will find the ‘Business Licence Application Form’ and the ‘Letter of Intent Form’ to apply for a business licence.

You can also visit the Town Office on the second floor of the Ponoka Civic Centre (5604-50 Street) to apply for a business licence in person.
