Soroptimist’s “Dream It Be It Career Support for Girls” conference in Red Deer this November

Soroptimist International of Central Alberta will once again be hosting their “Dream It Be It Career Support for girls” conference in Red Deer this year.

The conference will be held on Sunday, November 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Bower Kin Community Centre (85 Boyce St).

“‘Dream It Be It Career Support for girls’ helps girls grow up to be strong, successful, happy adults. The program provides girls with access to professional role models, career education and the resources to live their dreams,” said officials in a release.

Sessions are scheduled to include:

  • Woman Career panel
  • Life and Financial advice panel
  • Handling stress
  • Setting goals
  • Self esteem
  • Mental health
  • Yoga/dance fun!

The organization confirms lunch and snacks will be provided and registration is free for girls 14 to 18 years of age. Girls can register with Melody at melody@inspiringvirtues.ca or 403-304-8433 by Nov 4, 2022.

“Preparing girls for a brighter future. Empowering them to live their dreams,” reads the conference’s motto in a statement.

Soroptimist International of Central Alberta is part of a global volunteer organization to provide women and girls with the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. They have been part of the Period Promise pilot project in four Red Deer schools and the Central Alberta Purple Light Nights domestic violence awareness project.
