Local non-profits launch program to help you find direction in life

The Central Alberta Brain Injury Society (CABIS) and recently-launched non-profit Alberta Prairies Life Enrichment Training Studio (APLETS) is offering a free program to citizens who are looking to clarify their direction in life.

The 12-week Life Enrichment Skills for Living Program starts Sept. 26 and runs until Dec. 16.

The program is free, though there is a small registration fee. Exemptions are available.

“The recent COVID-19 pandemic crisis has changed many lives in our communities. Many individuals may have found themselves unemployed, isolated, working from home or working very different hours and possibly working different positions,” a joint press release from the organizations states.

“Our citizens may have been affected by illness which could have long lasting symptoms or negative results of having COVID-19. Many people also may be struggling with mental health concerns, addictions, financial instability, homelessness etc.”

They add that the program was created specifically for individuals who may require support, encouragement, life skills building and employment readiness skills and information before moving towards their goals which may include; further learning, post-secondary education, employment, community programs.

The program is made possible by funding from the Lifelong Learning Council of Red Deer.
