Red Deer River Naturalists host Field Trip to Battle River
The Red Deer River Naturalists (RDRN) is hosting a weekend hiking trip this June to discover the Battle River Valley.
Titled the “Battle River Field trip”, the two day expedition is scheduled to begin on Saturday, June 25 until Sunday, June 26.
The trip will involve a three-hour easy to medium hike through the Battle River Hills each day, and a stop at the old homestead of the Bjorge’s Farm to check for Turkey Vultures. Besides the vultures, some of the highlights of the trip might be Brown Thrashers, Great Horned Owls, Mountain Bluebirds, Cliff Swallows, and White-faced Ibis.
On the Saturday, participants will meet at the Ferry Point Campground on Range Rd 184 north of Twp Rd 434 near Meeting Creek in Rosalind, Alberta on June 25 at 10 a.m.
