$35.4 Million In May
Building permit values see increases in Red Deer

Officials with the City of Red Deer say building permit values increased in May, with 111 approved permits valued at $35.4 million, compared with 105 permits issued in May 2021 worth $11.9 million.
Year-to-date building permit values remain higher in 2022, with current values at $76.6 million compared with $41.9 million last year.
Notable permits include:
- Building permit for a new Catholic middle school (St. Lorenzo Ruiz) at 150 Kingston Drive, valued at $22,042,437
- Building permit for renovations of existing IGA Food Store at 3839 40 Avenue, valued at $1,540,000
- Building permit for main floor renovations at Alberta Health Services located at 4132-101 50 Avenue, valued at $1,100,000
- Building permit for 800 Wing roof expansion at Red Deer Polytechnic located at 100 College Boulevard, valued at $1,000,000
- Building permit for shipping, receiving and compressor building additions at 4617 63 Street, valued at $908,666
