Officials with the City of Red Deer say the organization is improving pedestrian safety by installing Rectangular Rapid Flash Beacons or RRFB’s in five new locations this month.

Between Nov. 10-26, crews will be installing the structures in the following locations:

  • 32 Street and 44A Avenue
  • Bennett Street and Baker Avenue
  • 69 Street Drive and 59 Avenue
  • 69 Street Drive at Aspen Heights Elementary School
  • Timothy Drive at Barrie Wilson Elementary School

Officials say this work includes installation of steel anchor bases, poles, solar panels, crosswalk buttons and the flashing beacons.
