New trial dates for Red Deer man accused of child luring, sexual assault

Nov 2, 2021 | 9:36 AM

New trial dates have now been set for a Red Deer man facing child luring and sexual assault charges.

Brandon Thomas Conlin, 31, was originally set to go to trial later this month from Nov. 15-19. However, he is now scheduled for a Red Deer Court of Queen’s Bench trial from Apr. 25-29, 2022.

Conlin is charged with sexual interference, sexual assault, possession of child pornography, and luring a child.

After receiving a complaint from a concerned parent, a Red Deer RCMP investigation last year determined that a 30-year-old man had allegedly lured and committed sexual offences against a 15-year-old.

The specialized Red Deer RCMP Sex Crime Unit executed a search warrant and arrested the suspect on July 31, 2020.

Created in July 2020, Mounties say the Red Deer Sex Crime Unit works collaboratively with a number of local agencies to provide victim-focused service to survivors of sexual violence.
