Ponoka town council approves 2022 Interim Budget
Following budget deliberations in September, Ponoka Town Council approved the 2022 Interim Budget at its regular meeting last week, before Monday’s municipal election.
The total amount of the 2022 Interim Budget is $25,898,470, which Town officials say includes an Interim Operating Budget of $19,408,070 and an Interim Capital Budget of $6,490,400. Council based the 2022 Interim Operating Budget on the existing 2021 Operating Budget. The final 2022 Capital and Operating Budgets, however, will be deliberated and approved by the new incoming town council in early 2022.
“The 2022 Interim Capital Budget delivers on key priorities outlined in the Town’s 2018-2023 Strategic Plan by investing in the maintenance and improvement of existing infrastructure in our community. By continuing to invest in Ponoka’s infrastructure, the Interim Capital Budget helps position our community for future growth and enhances the quality of life that our citizens enjoy,” said Sandra Lund, Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of Ponoka, in a press release.
